I was always active as a child playing outdoors a lot, and played baseball in my youth and in high school. I had a trainer to help me with athletic performance when I was a freshman for baseball. Surely, after that, I made some poor decisions hanging out with the wrong crowd, getting into trouble which eventually led me to being expelled my sophomore year from high school. This is where my real fitness journey started. luckily for me the only place my parents allowed me to go besides my continuation school was the gym seeing that it did have a positive effect on my life prior to me getting kicked out of school.
Since I was only able to leave the house going to the gym I started going every day. The gym was a place where I could relieve my stress, anxiety and depression that I was going through at that time . I was always a skinny, weaker kid growing up didn’t eat that much . I had to learn through reading magazines and books how to properly build muscle and gain quality weight through nutrition and exercise. Years later although my life has drastically changed for the better it still provides the same benefits of stress relieve of life and makes me feel great physically and more importantly mentally.
I owe everything to fitness. It was the beacon of light in the darkest time of my life at such an important age. If I didn’t have it in my life I don’t think I’d be where I am today.. maybe not even around.
Majority of the most positive events in my life came from fitness. It taught me to set goals, work hard, be disciplined, stay committed, believe in myself when no one does, to overcome adversity picking myself up after failure and try again and again until I succeed. It created life changing opportunities that I wouldn’t have been presented or if I didn’t develop and acquire those internal skills to rise to the occasion and come out on top.
This is why I’m passionate about helping others in their fitness journey. I know that it’s life changing. The attributes needed to be successful by improving your health getting into the best shape of your life can be applied to all facets of life.
Getting in the best shape of your life not only improves the quality of your life but those around you. Those close to you get the best version of you. I’m not talking about the great body or the external changes I’m talking about the internal transformation of who you become.
You become someone that those around you can count on, to lean on, for strength when they are down you become a sign of strength and inspiration to help them overcome their own adversities in life. Your friends, parents, kids - all can pull strength from you as use it to help them. That’s what it’s really all about!
